Jim Murphy is known as "the man who walked across America in prayer." In 1992, inspired by the American Bishops’ letter Heritage and Hope, Jim undertook a 4200 mile journey on foot across America, carrying a 6 ft. cross in an effort of prayer and evangelization. The journey took 18 months...and 14 pairs of shoes!

Jim is the founder and president of Vera Cruz Communications (www.veracruzcm.com), a ministry that exists to proclaim the message of God’s love, evidenced by the cross of Jesus. Jim has served in many leadership positions nationally and internationally, is a passionate speaker and a good friend to Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Western Washington.

Fr. Cal Christiansen was born in Canada and is the only Catholic in his family. He received his call to the priesthood during a powerful experience in Adoration and was ordained in 2007. He enjoys ministering to the Body of Christ as one of the Priests for the South and East Tacoma Cluster of 6 Parishes. Fr. Cal will be presiding at our opening Mass on Saturday morning. He served as chaplain on our recent Women’s Retreat and will be presiding at a Healing Mass at St. Anthony Church in Renton on May 28th.
