“The Wisdom of God can be received through the
and we, through faith in Christ,
open ourselves to the action of the Spirit,
which enables us to live God’s love.”

Let it Rain? Let it Snow!
2014 Women’s Retreat Report
By Tammie Stevens and Carolyn McNerney
On February 7-9 about 85 women gathered at the Archbishop Brunett Retreat Center
at the Palisades for the 2014 WWCCR Women’s Retreat.
This year the planning team discerned that the focus of the retreat
should be on life in the Holy Spirit.
For some of the women attending it would be an opportunity to receive
prayer for baptism in the Holy Spirit for the first time, and for others it was
a chance to be refreshed and renewed, to experience more of the Holy Spirit
which is so needed for all of us to live out our faith.
From Sue's Desk
This is an exciting time! Do you
remember this song? “The Spirit is moving all over, all over this land.”
It came into my heart this morning and it fits perfectly with what I wanted
to share with you this month. The Spirit is moving in so many ways.
One way is through Life in the Spirit seminars.
In February, WWCCR offered two Life in the Spirit seminars: one at
our annual Women’s Retreat and one as part of the School of Healing Prayer.
The latter was a one-day presentation by a team from the Renewed in Christ
prayer group from St. Louise in Bellevue. We were not sure how a one-day
seminar would work, but I was there and in my opinion it worked very well.
Carolyn, our friend and bookkeeper was also there and she said, “Now THAT’S
what I’m talking about!” She was all fired up. Praise God! You see, it does
not matter if you are newly baptized in the Holy Spirit or if you have been
in the Renewal for 30 years or more, holy fire is always energizing,
exciting and renewing!
Shouting to the Lord…PUMP IT UP!
A Women’s Retreat testimony by Cathy Williams
Editor’s note: On the weekend of February 7-9, 2014 more than 85 women gathered
for the WWCCR Women’s Retreat. A
full report can be found on page 1.
Here is a testimony of the grace that was experienced on the weekend.
I began my 12th WWCCR
retreat with a favorite scripture (Rom. 5:5) running through my mind: “…hope
does not disappoint.” But, I was
disappointed! I already had my
agenda to Pump It Up. I had
decided, before the retreat, that I would learn scripture and gather inspiration
through witness stories and prayer.
Mostly, I just wanted to sing those peppy praise songs.
Praise music cleanses my soul: I cry, I laugh, I am crazy with joy, quiet
comes to my restless soul; I am restored.
During the praise time Friday night, I was challenged as the last song
ended: “…nothing compares to the promise I have in you.”
Really? I was worn and tired,
weak and drained. What was the
promise? Could the promise and my
hope be renewed?
