Supporting Our Ministry

by Mike Daoust
WWCCR Board of Directors, Treasurer

It’s that time of year when we have one of two concerns: 1) How much will we have to pay the IRS? or 2) How much will the IRS refund to us? I address this article to the second group. Have you planned how you will spend this money? What will you buy or pay off with this "extra" cash?

And now we are also hearing that many of us will receive another check from the government as part of the "economic stimulus plan," also being called a "tax rebate."

Have you ever considered how you might use some of these funds to further the work of God? I do not necessarily mean giving all of it away. This might be a good time to help WWCCR out with a one-time gift of part of your refund or tax rebate. Knowing that I will get some money back, I have already pledged a portion of my refund to WWCCR. I encourage you to do the same, as a way of "thanks-giving" to God for all His generous gifts.

I believe that when we give, the Lord will multiply to those who give but also to those who receive, so that each will be blessed by God. "God is able to make every grace abundant for you, so that in all things, always having all you need, you may have an abundance for every good work…The one who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed and increase the harvest of your righteousness." 2 Cor 9:8,10

So, consider donating some of your tax refund or your "economic stimulus payment" to WWCCR or other charities.
